Nine individual CABx have been working with the Project in developing Racial Equality initiatives; much of the work has been in awareness raising, and raising the profile of CABx in the community. Display stands, to exhibit anti-racist and Project materials, have been distributed to the CABx. One bureau has undertaken equality monitoring, and has produced some interesting figures - the number of young people using the Service is much higher than had been supposed. The number of Minority Ethnic clients was found to be about 2% - actually higher than the census figures for the area would indicate. Work with Bureaux continues - a survey undertaken by the Project found that, whilst people were aware of the CAB Service, most would prefer to seek advice from family or friends, in the first instance.
